Role Summary

We are looking for an experienced and proactive Team Leader to manage a team of 3 Business Development Officers in our Blantyre office. The successful candidate will be responsible for guiding the team’s efforts in business development, client engagement, and achieving sales targets, with a strong background in general insurance. Leadership, coaching, and a commitment to our mission are essential.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage, mentor, and supervise a team of 3 Business Development Officers.
• Drive business development initiatives and ensure team targets are met.
• Analyze market trends and performance data to identify strategic opportunities.
• Oversee client relationship management and key account development.
• Ensure team alignment with company goals, processes, and compliance standards.
• Conduct performance reviews and provide coaching for team development.
• Uphold and promote the company’s Christian principles, mission, and values.

Qualifications & Experience

• Degree in Marketing, Business, Insurance, or related field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in General Insurance.
• Proven experience in team leadership, supervision, or management.
• Strong understanding of general insurance products and the Malawi market.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and strategic planning skills.
• Ability to train, motivate, and develop a high-performing team.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Fluency in English required; knowledge of Chichewa or a local language is advantageous.
